Elders Past & Present

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF COUNTRY

As we begin our journey it is important to take a moment to acknowledge the traditional owners of Australia and pay my respects to their Elders past, present, and emerging. I recognise the deep and enduring connection that Indigenous Australians have with the land.

In particular, I would like to offer a special acknowledgement to the traditional owners of the Miriwoong/Gajerrong Country, where I am blessed to call home.

I recognise that the traditional owners have a deep and rich cultural heritage, and that their traditions, customs, and stories have been passed down through generations. I acknowledge the importance of preserving and protecting this heritage for future generations.

At the heart of my acknowledgement is a commitment to reconciliation and respect. I recognise the ongoing impact of colonisation on Indigenous Australians, and acknowledge the need for healing, understanding, compassion and forgiveness. I commit to listening, learning, and working towards a future where all Australians can live in harmony and mutual respect.
