DIVERSION DAM WALL IN THE WET
This vertical panoramic image features the Diversion Dam Wall in Kununurra, Western Australia. Composed through a series of 20 shots with optical zoom. The technique employed creates a compelling compression effect, seamlessly blending the foreground and background to appear closer to one another. To enhance the dynamic range, I utilized exposure bracketing with 5 shots and subsequently stitched the four HDR images into a vertical panorama.
This photograph captures a moment of anticipation and joy as locals gather around the dam wall, witnessing the mighty Ord River in full flow. The water level at Lake Argyle was approximately 4 metres above the Spillway, which really signifies yet another remarkable wet season in the East Kimberley.
